At first glance seems fantastic but dig deeper and you’ll find limited usefulness.,
The area where the keyboard fell flat on it’s face though is it’s integration with 3rd party apps like Netflix, YouTube, and Amazon Instant Video. One of the main reasons I picked the keyboard up was to make searching video sites like these much more simple. Unfortunately, not all SmartTV apps support the use of the external keyboard so you’re still stuck keying in search terms using the onscreen keyboard using the remote control. Switching back and forth between using the Remote to do some things and the keyboard to do others is pretty ridiculous. I know it’s up to the app developers to provide support for the keyboard but it doesn’t make the keyboard any less useless.
Being that the keyboard supposedly can link to three separate Bluetooth devices, I was hoping I’d be able to pair it with my PS3 to at least get a small more usefulness but not such luck there either. I had a support chat with one of the Samsung reps and at first he told me that the keyboard could only be paired with Samsung TVs (Really?). After I pointed out that it was advertised as being able to “easily connect to other devices” he told he it could only be paired to bluetooth enabled STBs (Really??). I got the thought that he didn’t know what we was talking about but didn’t want to push the issue. I have the transcript copied if anyone familiar with pairing bluetooth devices wants a excellent laugh.
Between not being able to pair this “Bluetooth” keyboard with any device other than a STB and the lack of support by major video content apps (Netflix, YouTube) I reckon I’m going to be returning the keyboard. Maybe I’ll try again when more SmartTv apps support it and it can be paired with a wider range of devices.

Doesn’t work on all Samsung TV’s,
My understanding (now) is only model #’s 6400 and above will work with wireless keyboards. UGH!
AND, the instructions are not written by an English speaking individual. Tough to follow.

Would be five stars, but there’s A PROBLEM!,
46″ 2013 model, 3D. The included remote is not helpful at ALL, so went over to a store, and they had two left. They’re selling like hotcakes, because the included touchpad remote is very, very limited.
How it works:
Works like it should, except for one thing, it being a KEYBOARD. Hooks up in seconds: just place the batteries in, and do the bluetooth connection as directed. MUCH superior to the small included remote, which is quite useless in web browsing (to which we’ll return), and in installing the the apps. (Do keep your laptop handy when doing this, though. I made a NUMBER of trips up and down the stairs.) I would be COMPLETELY pleased, but for one huge thing.
PROBLEM:
The “enter/return” key does NOT work with web browsing. I cannot post comments to Facebook. I can post a status update, but cannot comment. When I am in a forum, making a post, I cannot make line brakes, carriage returns. Just can’t. Neither the key, or pointing and clicking the mouse on “done” (on-screen).
When you point the mouse at “DONE” on the screen, in lieu of the enter key (which doesn’t work in the browser), nothing happens!
Perhaps there is a setting? Perhaps some sort of software glitch in the television? If so, PLEASE, someone respond! This is getting REALLY annoying, because I like to write at night, especially do my blog, and post in a forum. And I can’t answer my friends in Facebook, when they question a question. Very annoying!
Otherwise, for EVERYTHING else, it works swell! I would recommend it. Just be aware of this glitch. Just be aware of this, and maybe you will know what the solution is.
This is a GROUNDBREAKING NEW unit, and I don’t reckon it is a mechanical defect. It is in the communication between the unit and the TV’s SMART web browser. An answer, anyone? Please?
Thank you,
Robin
