   This is not a Samsung original device. It is cheaply made with paint splotches, glue oozing out of seams, nicks and scratches, and very poor quality molding of the individual pieces. The battery compartment is hard to open and batteries don’t fit quite right.

   This remote is knock-off junk. I have bought better quality cheap universal / replacement remotes at the drug store. Don’t waste your money.

   Oh, if only these things came with instructions. This year [2014] we bought a new “smart” Samsung with this clever small, but annoying, controller that allowed you to change programs when you didn’t want to, to write to it in a space too small to be understood, and which popped open when it hit the floor because some small, tiny screws were missing. One evening, our newest dog, Rocky, got to the small controller before I did and chewed up its back cover. But he did leave it when told to “leave it.” Crushed. That meant the back couldn’t be refastened, mostly a function of its small size. Shortly thereafter the mute-volume control button fell out. It was probably eaten. So I bought one of these things. A new small controller like the chewed up one was discounted to $90; the AA59-00594A was much, much less expensive, operates in a really familiar manner, won’t get lost in your lap, and it changes stations quicker. No gimmics, you can play 3D and do other “intelligent” things too; it just wins.

   this remote is fine but it’s not for my tv. I was told by my the representative from samsung that it would certainly work for my model. I have 3 samsung tvs and a washing machine. I won’t buy samsung anymore due to the terrible customer service on their 800 line.
